Bluebird Care Southhants live-in team is a team that will recruit, train you and look after you during your employment with us. Our team is based in Totton which is near Southampton and we place our carers across the south. We have two dedicated people who will help you to go from assignment to assignment, who will do your food allowance expenses, and who will also encourage further training if wanted. Some of our team have worked for more than 5 years with us.
We are looking for experienced female live-in care professional who have experience with Dementia care, or people with experience in the following diseases such as Parkinson's, and Huntington's disease care to join. All our female live-in carers come from different walks of life but they all have compassion, patience and a hands-on attitude. They enjoy working with our customers to enable them to live as independently as possible in their own homes. We have placements in Totton, Lymington, Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, Portsmouth and Southampton, we even go to Ringwood, all in the Newforest.
As a female live-in care professional, you will move in with our customers for a minimum of three weeks up to a maximum of 8 weeks, depending on the intensity and care needs of the customers. If you have done residential care or nursing care before and you want to make a difference by offering person-centered care, then this is the right way to do this. This job will give you the chance to develop a personal bond and establish a relationship as well as create a routine. Your duties will include; helping with Personal Care, Meal and fluid preparations, Housekeeping, Medication administration, Companionship, and Shopping. With your help, our customers do not need to go into residential care and you make a huge difference in their lives.
Our pay rates vary per assignment and care needs, and whether it is one or two people, starting from £100.00 up to £120.00. You will not be self-employed. This will mean that you do not have to file yearly taxes and worry about national insurance or work pensions. We also have a fantastic Health Care scheme which you will be able to use. and your work will be covered by our liability insurance. Also, we have a special live-in team who will support you fully as well as direct support from our local offices in each area where you work. We keep you in the south and do not send you across for work to the north. You will assist customers who need just reassurance but also people with specialist conditions such as Dementia, Huntington’s disease, and Diabetes care. This job can be challenging as you will need to support men, women, and couples who cannot cope on their own with their daily tasks. So all our female live-in care assistants are very good with the engagement with elderly who live with dementia, mobility issues, sensory impairments, you name it. You will be their guardian angel.
What are we looking for in a Live-in Care Professional?
A mature approach to problem-solving and be healthy and robust as you will need to be able to manoeuvre people if bedridden. Being level-headed and hands-on. Be able to deal with emergencies and stay calm.
Be prepared to be away from family and friends for several weeks at a time.
Be able to cook nutritious meals and happy to do some housekeeping.
Have the right to work in the UK or have pre-settled status in the EU.
Speak good English and be able to engage with our customers
If you are a driver that could be beneficial, but it is not essential.
Someone who is kind, compassionate and cool in stressful situations. But also someone who enjoys spending time with the elderly to reminisce and spend time with them doing puzzles, scrabble etc
A minimum of 6 months of home care, residential care, nursing care or learning disabilities experience. If you have done child care or domiciliary care previously, this could be just the job for you!
