Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall is seeking a reliable and compassionate Support Worker to support a client living with a neurological condition and facial dystonia. This role focuses on delivering person-centred care that promotes independence, wellbeing, and dignity in the comfort of the client’s own home.

About the Role

This is a part-time position supporting a thoughtful and independent lady who responds best to mature carers with a calm, encouraging approach. She values her autonomy and prefers to remain actively involved in her daily routines wherever possible.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with personal care and dressing
• Supporting with meal preparation and hydration
• Assisting with light physiotherapy exercises, including in a heated swimming pool (swimming ability is an advantage)
• Providing companionship and mental stimulation, such as playing word games
• Carrying out light domestic tasks: changing bedding, laundry, kitchen tidying, and preparing meals and drinks

The client experiences fatigue and benefits from gentle encouragement, conversation, and engaging activities that offer mental stimulation and positive distraction.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in domiciliary or personal care is desirable
• A respectful and empathetic approach to supporting independence
• Strong communication skills, especially with individuals who experience speech difficulties
• Swimming ability is a bonus due to aquatic physiotherapy
• A full UK driving licence is essential
